Any material submitted to wxWiki must follow these rules or that material will be removed or reverted. These rules help keep information in the correct place while keeping the Wiki clean, organized, and relevant to those reading it for help.
- Only submit information relevant to the latest stable release of wxWidgets. A lot of information currently in the Wiki is well out-of-date. It is our goal to keep the wxWiki as up-to-date as possible. Information regarding anything currently under development is the only exception to this rule.
- Keep personal information on your page in the User namespace. All policies with the exception of copyright and code of conduct standards are pretty much null and void when it comes to information on your own user page. You can use it for just about anything you want and post whatever you want on it so long as it doesn't infringe on copyright or code of conduct standards. If you are logged in, clicking on your username at the top of this page will take you to your user page.
- Do not submit bugs to the Wiki. Bugs in wxWidgets should be posted to the Trac bug tracker where the wxWidgets developers can be notified of the bug and fix it. This also applies to most code submitted to work around bugs in wxWidgets. If those bugs are properly fixed, any work-around would be in violation of rule #1 as soon as the next stable release is made. Users should be looking in Trac for any bugs related to their problem first. Not everyone consults the Wiki to learn and use wxWidgets.
- Do not post copies of code or information included in the wxWidgets distribution. If you need to reference source or documentation files included in the wxWidgets distribution, you can link to a dynamic git master branch copy through the online sources. Any copies of information submitted won't be updated with changes made to the file in question in wxWidgets.
