This is an incomplete list of Open Source projects which use wxWidgets. These are possible code bases to mine for samples of using wxWidgets. Feel free to add any missing projects.

  • Bochs contains a wxWidgets GUI plugin.
  • ClogAmp - Cross-platform music player for clogging instructors.
  • Colligere - An extendable music collection manager.
  • Cornice - Cornice is a cross-platform image viewer written in Python + wxPython + PIL.
  • CMake - Cross platform build system (Mac OSX gui).
  • Code::Blocks - Cross platform, open source C/C++ IDE extensible through plugins (Dev-Cpp and MSVC alike).
  • CodeLite - Cross platform, open source C/C++ IDE extensible through plugins.
  • Comical - CBR/CBZ comic book viewer for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
  • CSSTint - Utility for CSS stylesheet color modifications.
  • CTSim - Simulates the process of transmitting X-rays through phantom objects and providing a wide array of image analysis and image processing functions.
  • Cube Server Lister - Tool to monitor servers for Cube-based games
  • DebugView Filter Editor - A filter editor for DebugView output debug string monitor. (archived page)
  • DrPython - Customizable IDE for Python
  • emuWorks - Home to a collection of NES/SNES SRAM editors and the wxCHTDecoder utility.
  • Envoy - Open source multiplatform e-mail client written in C++. Works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
  • FileZilla - Open source FTP client/server.
  • FreqTweak - A tool for FFT-based realtime audio spectral manipulation and display.
  • Gambit - A library of game theory software and tools for the construction and analysis of finite extensive and strategic games.
  • GNUe Forms - Data-aware user-interface generator.
  • Gungirl Sequencer - An easy to use audio sequencer.
  • Gnuplot - A portable command-line driven interactive data and function plotting utility.
  • Highlight - Customizable source code converter.
  • .LAN Communicator - instant messaging client based on IRC, mainly for LAN
  • LenMus - GNU Music theory learning program and score editor/player.
  • Kephra - Texteditor (not only) for programmer, designed along Perl like Principles

  • MadEdit - An open source cross-platform Text/Hex Editor, support Unicode and many useful functions.

  • pgAdmin III - The leading open source management and administration GUI for PostgreSQL.
  • PLplot - The cross platform plotting library has also a wxWidgets driver, which can also be used in wxWidgets applications.
  • Plucker Desktop - visual content management for Plucker, the offline webbrowser for PDAs.

  • pype - Python programmer editor written in wxPython.
  • Pyrite Publisher - A content conversion tool for Palm Computing Platform users.
  • pyslsk (wxPython) - soulseek client
  • wxQueries - A queries management software (useful for an IT team to manage incidents).
  • RapidSVN - GUI for the Subversion version control software.
  • wxRepWrt - report writer
  • Scorched3D - 3D remake of the popular 2D artillery game Scorched Earth
  • SPE - Stani's Python Editor - Python IDE. the official site seems to be gone
  • Survex - Cave surveying and visualisation software

  • VVV (Virtual Volumes View) - A program to catalog the content of removable volumes like CDs and DVDs
  • XEngine - The platform and API independent 3D Engine
  • XCD - XMPP Client Daemon for developing Jabber/XMPP dependend application with wxWidgets.
  • Wammu - GSM phone manager
  • Xara Xtreme LX - Open source version of the commercial Xara Xtreme vector drawing application.
  • xMule - eMule client supporting GNU/Linux and *BSD.
  • KiCAD - an GPL-ed software for the creation of electronic schematic diagrams and printed circuit board artwork (electronics EDA).
